Transom windows provide glimpses of the larger volume and a sense of space in the relatively small bathroom. Daylight is diffused and softened as it is bent by the skylight chase.
A detail of the large north window. I built the frame from vertical-grain Doug Fir and joined the members with sliding dovetails. Insulated thermopanes provide energy efficiency and are trimmed with walnut on the interior.
